What is Hxro?

Hxro is a crypto gaming platform that merges digital currency trading with skill-based social gaming. In Hxro’s new game-based format, players compete against their peers in timed contests of varying duration, testing their skills in the action-packed crypto markets. Hxro offers a variety of free-to-play and fixed entry fee games. The fixed entry fee games (pre-defined risk) allow users to play for microstakes (as little as 10 HXRO tokens per event) or larger amounts of HXRO tokens.

MoonRekt

The most fundamental question in trading is “higher or lower?” At Hxro, the question is Moon or Rekt?

Players in MoonRekt games use their skill and intuition to identify the directional movement of a cryptocurrency during a period of time. In games of pre-defined lengths (5 minutes, 15 minutes, 1 hour, 1 day, etc), players choose whether the crypto will Moon (go higher) or get Rekt (go lower) during the specified time period for each game.

At the designated start time of each game, the opening price is locked. At the end of the game, when the game clock reaches 00:00, the closing price is locked. If the closing price is higher than the opening price, the players that selected Moon win the game. If the closing price is lower than the opening price, the players that selected Rekt win the game. The entry fees from all players in each game are pooled. The players on the winning side split the payout pool on a pro rata basis. For example, if a player’s entry fee represents 10% of the total entry fees placed on the winning side, his share of the payout pool will be 10% of the total payout pool. Hxro Games takes a small service fee from the entry pool in each game.

How to Play

MoonRekt

1. Choose a contest

There are contests for different cryptocurrencies with different time frames to choose from.

2. Choose a side – Moon or Rekt

Prior to the start time of the game, players choose their side: Moon (higher) or Rekt (lower).

3. Choose an entry fee amount

The entry fee should be equal to or greater than the minimum entry fee designated for the selected contest.

4. Watch and Win

Once the contest starts all user selections are locked and the starting “locked” price for the contest is revealed. The locked price is the Hxro Index price feed data point recorded at the contest start time. The total number of entries made for Moon and Rekt are revealed. At the end of the contest, the Hxro Index price feed recorded when the game clock reaches 00:00 is the closing price for the game.

Resolution

If the contest’s closing price is higher than the contest’s starting price, the players who selected Moon are the winners. If the contest’s closing price is lower than the contest’s starting price, the players who selected Rekt are the winners. The HXRO tokens from the pool of entry fees are paid out to the players on the winning side on a pro rata basis. For example, if a player’s entry fee represents 10% of the total entry fees placed on the winning side, her share of the payout pool will be 10% of the total payout pool. Hxro Games collects a small service fee from the total entry fee pool.

With a prize pool that grows as more users play, MoonRekt payouts can grow to multiples of player entry fees as the distribution of players on each side swings with the ebb and flow of market prices and sentiment.

The Hxro Index price is the price feed displayed for the crypto in all Hxro contests and is the price feed used in all scoring calculations.
